Το έργο αφορά την αποκατάσταση ενός διώροφου διατηρητέου κτηρίου (1920) με συνολικό εμβαδόν 162 μέτρων.. Με κριτηριο την μετεπειτα λειτουργια του (ως ξενοδοχειακό κατάλυμα) καθως και την ιδιαιτερη τοποθεσια του (ενετικό λιμάνι των Χανίων) κριναμε σκόπιμο να γίνουν αρχιτεκτονικές επεμβάσεις. Η φιλοσοφία και η έμπνευση μας να καταργήσουμε τα όρια ανάμεσα στο κλασικό και στο μοντέρνο επικράτησαν τόσο στον σχεδιασμό του κτιρίου όσο και στην διαμόρφωση όλων των χώρων.

"...η φαντασία είναι ένα στάδιο έκφρασης του νου."



GH: ... η κρίση σε εχει περιορίσει (?) και πως που βλέπεις τα πράγματα γύρω σου?
AK: Δυσκολίες, ναι, υπάρχουν, αλλά μπορείς να τις να διαχειριστείς. Είμαι άτομο με μεγάλη όρεξη για δουλειά και αυτο από μόνο του μια πολύ καλή αρχή. Είναι σημαντικό να μπορείς να προσεγγίσεις εταιρίες, που ίσως παλαιότερα να μη συνέβαινε τόσο συχνά και να δείξεις τις δυνατότητες σου και να εφαρμόσεις τις ιδέες σου.

GH: Με αυτό το σκεπτικό ξεκίνησες και το γλυπτό με το πρόσωπο;
AK: Ναι, σχεδόν! Διάθεση υπήρχε και υπάρχει από πλευράς μου για συνεχώς νέα πράγματα. Με το γλυπτό προσέγγισα με έναν εικαστικό τρόπο μιαν άλλη οπτική, τη σκέψη. Η κατασκευή έγινε στο πλαίσιο της εκδήλωσης για το TEDxchania με θέμα το ΜΙΤΟ της Αριάδνης (κουβάρι, λαβύρινθος κτλ).

GH: Με πρόλαβες για το επόμενο ερώτημά μου. Η σκέψη δηλαδή ήταν η προσέγγιση σου! Πόσο δύσκολο είναι να πείσεις τον κόσμο για αυτό που κάνεις;
AK: Δεν πιστεύω ότι χρειάζεται να πείσεις κανένα. Εκφράζεις μια οπτική, με έναν εικαστικό ή καλλιτεχνικό τρόπο. Βασικό είναι να πιστεύεις εσύ πρώτα σε αυτό που κάνεις και να έχεις υπομονή, στοιχεία που τηρώ συνεχώς στην δουλειά μου.


GH:..Φανταζομαι! Τι σου προκαλεί έμπνευση;
AK: Κάπου πρόσφατα διάβασα πως η «φαντασία είναι το μόνο που μας απέμεινε και αυτό κρατάμε»! Θα συμπληρώσω πάνω σε αυτό πως η φαντασία είναι ένα στάδιο έκφρασης του νου, αρκεί να σκεφτόμαστε πάντα θετικά! Πέρα από αυτά, η έμπνευση έχει να κάνει για το τι πράγμα μιλάμε. Είναι διαφορετικό κάθε φορά. Το πιο σημαντικό ρόλο θα έλεγα πως είναι τα στοιχεία που λαμβάνουμε από την καθημερινότητα μας, τα απλά πράγματα. Η εποχή της τεχνολογίας που ζούμε, οι ανάγκες, οι συμπεριφορές, ακόμα και οι άνθρωποι που κινούνται γύρω μας.

GH:..Σαν να υπάρχει μια διαρκής αναζήτηση μου ακούγεται όλο αυτό.
AK: Ναι, ισχύει πως όλο και κάτι θα υπάρξει ακόμα. Πάντως, όπως ανάφερα και προηγουμένως, πρέπει να βρεις το δρόμο και τον τρόπο για να εφαρμόσεις τις ιδέες σου και τη διαφορετικότητα σου. Δεν μπορείς να βαδίζεις συνεχώς στις ίδιες γραμμές. Διαρκώς να ενημερώνεσαι. Να τολμάς και να ρισκάρεις και πάνω απ’ όλα να πιστεύεις σε αυτό που κάνεις.
